Lund International Rotary Club is a young club, hence almost all of us are working and travelling. And therefore we can do the presidential handover first on Tuesday, the 1st of September, as both outgoing and incoming presidents should be present! But, we do it in style, with a party!!! Bring your family and friends and join us at Fredsgatan 6, where the party will be held in one of Lund city’s hidden gardens! Opening the garden at 19.00 (7 pm). We will serve drinks and food and we need your RVSP latest 25th of August to prepare for the party, via mail to hejamaja@gmail.com (Maria Janson). Please also swish 300 SEK for adults and 150 SEK for kids < 18 years, to LIRC 123 419 97 09 WELCOME ALL!!! |

With photos from the Svalbard-expedition that our president joined in May 2026, we will be travelling to one of the most northern habited place on earth. The land of the polarbears, polarfoxes, walrusses, belugas, the puffins and resarchers from all over the world. With the climate changes, how will the life of Svalbard change, do we know that?

The Swedish Sea Rescue Society is involved in around 90 percent of all sea rescue missions in Sweden. The Society is financed by membership fees, donations and voluntary work. The Society operates over 270 vessels in 73 rescue stations around the Swedish coast and in the major lakes. Thanks to 2 500 volunteer crew members, rescue services are always available within 15 minutes 24 hours a day, all year round and in any weather. The Swedish Sea Rescue Society has more than 146 000 members, and recieves no government funding.
Today, we will hear more about this organization and what they do, as Dr Pelle Gustafson, orthopedic surgeon and sea rescuer, will join us for our breakfast meeting.
