Colour changes in lakes and seas
02 dec. 2025 7:00 - 8:30

Colour changes in lakes and seas - the results of unconscious and conscious actions!

Johanna Stadmark will present her interesting research about environmental effects on oceans and lake.

"I am interested in how human activity changes the conditions in different ecosystems and what can be done to improve the quality of water, soil and air. My research has focused on various biogeochemical processes and I have investigated, among other things, eutrophication in the Baltic Sea, acidification and brownification in lakes and rivers, greenhouse gas emissions from wetlands, effects of forestry and of low-trophic aquaculture. I have also worked with gender equality and equal conditions in academia in projects at Lund University as well as in European contexts. I am motivated by being able to contribute to a better world for both people and the environment."

Ig Nobel Prize: To make you laugh and think
09 dec. 2025 7:00 - 8:30

Tomorrow is the Noble Day of the Nobel Prize. As far as we know, no member of LIRC has ever gotten the Noble Prize, but maybe the Ig Nobel Prize? The Ig Nobel prizes are intended to celebrate the unusual, honor the imaginative, and spur people's interest in science, medicine, and technology.

So please everyone, look through the list of Ig Nobel Prize, https://improbable.com/ig/winners/, and pick one winner you would like to present at the meeting. And choose how you'd like to present, maybe in a Power Point, as a charade or just talk about it.

This meeting should be as the Ig Noble Prize, to make us laugh and think!

Biodiversity, how to handle that in a company!
24 feb. 2026 7:35 - 8:35

Johan Olausson works at RISE and leads projects to help companies understand, measure, and manage their impacts and dependencies on biodiversity. His work focuses on developing practical methods, data, and tools for biodiversity measurement, target-setting, and reporting, together with RISE’s researchers and other research partners.

In this presentation, he will discuss why biodiversity is difficult to measure, how companies can navigate emerging frameworks such as SBTN and TNFD, and how they can move from ambition to action through practical examples and case studies.
